Trips
The only downside to summer vacations is their cost. Between
travel expenses, lodging, and food, vacations start looking more like a second
mortgage. And that's even before any kind of activities! But don't worry, there
are plenty of affordable trips that everyone will enjoy, and they won't break
the bank either!
- Camping: Pitch a tent and take advantage of the campground's beauty and cheap amenities like built-in activities for the kids, swimming pool, and picnic grounds.
- Staycation: Extensive travel not necessary-stay in your home town and experience everything it has to offer. Take in a live show, go to baseball game, eat at a new restaurant, or live it up and order room service in a fancy hotel!
- Rent a house: Upgrade from the hotel to an entire house! Enjoy the warm summer temperatures (and comparatively low costs!) when you're lounging in your own private pool.
- Go hiking: Most trails are free and so are the beautiful views.
- Substitute the ocean with a lake: Sandy beaches and water lapping your flip-flops is much more affordable when you swap the ocean with a lake.
