Design dynamic

A whole new angle.

ELANTRA stirs up the dramatic. Sharply defined character lines on the sides flow with its crisply contoured bumpers. A dominant bold grille up front and the angled design of the rear are equal measures of break-out-of-the-expected bold. From every angle ELANTRA is anything but boring.

When your hands are full, only ELANTRA can help with hands-free smart trunk release. 2020 Toyota Corolla, Honda Civic, Nissan Sentra and Mazda 3 don't have it.

Stay connected.

2021 Hyundai Elantra Engine and Drivetrain

The 2021 Hyundai Elantra's gas variant comes with one very fuel-efficient engine, while a hybrid and turbocharged engine are available on exclusive Elantra models. The main available engine is a 2.0-liter Inline-4 providing drivers with 147 horsepower and 132 lb-ft of torque and gets an average of 37 MPG. If you're looking for even more fuel efficiency, the Elantra Hybrid combines the power of a 1.6L I-4 and a 32kW electric motor to get an impressive average of 55 MPG. Under the hood of the upcoming Elantra N-Line will be a turbocharged 1.6L I-4 kicking out a hefty 201 horsepower and 195 lb-ft of torque and still maintaining almost 26 MPG.

What Can You Tell Me About the 2021 Elantra's New Design?

Hyundai's design executives went back to the drawing board for the 7th generation Elantra. Luc Donckerwolke, executive vice president and chief design officer, uses the term "parametric dynamics" to describe the new Elantra's body style and exterior attributes. The design was upgraded with a wider stance, and divided body surfaces have been carefully designed to evoke a strong emotion from the Elantra's onlookers. The design includes a forward-leaning front fascia with a jewel patterned cascading grille. The headlights are in a narrow frame extending towards the side and up, giving it an aggressive stare. Two bold lines extend from the top of the hood and come to a point on either side of the Hyundai emblem. The low hood creates a tense emotion. A distinct sharp edge runs from the front grille to the rear bumper on either side of the Elantra, creating a bold side profile. The rear has a broad horizontal line extending from edge to edge. The sharp edges and elegant curves tie together perfectly to make a bold and unique appearance that speaks volumes to the eyes of those looking at the Elantra.

Is the 2021 Hyundai Elantra a Safe Vehicle?

Absolutely! In addition to anti-lock brakes, advanced occupant classification airbags that adjust depending on occupant size and severity of impact, side curtain airbags, driver's knee airbags, drivers and occupants of the 2021 Elantra are protected by Hyundai's SmartSense safety group. The SE trim comes standard with blindspot monitoring, a driver's aid most manufacturers charge extra for. Additionally, SmartSense includes lane keep assist and following to help keep the vehicle centered in its lane, a rearview camera, automatic high beams that sense oncoming traffic and turn the high beams on and off automatically, and forward collision avoidance.
